Emergency Drill in Progress

On Saturday, October 14, 2017, GPS participated in an Active Shooter Exercise with local and state agencies led by the Local Emergency Preparedness Committee (LEPC).  For the last 6 months, the LEPC has planned this active shooter exercise.  The goal was to simulate an active shooter at DCHS so that all affected agencies could practice their protocols.  Unfortunately in this day and age, we have to be prepared for many situations, especially this one.  As everyone hopes that this will never happen in Glendive, we want to be prepared and ever vigilant in our aim to keep our students and staff safe in our schools.

The Active Shooter Exercise was a success. Thank you to everyone for their patience during this exercise.

Our local and state agencies did a great job. We would like to thank Jeff Gates, Kevin Pena, and Mary Jo Gehnert for all their work planning this. We would also like to thank the MT DES, MT DOT, MHP, Dawson County LEPC, Dawson County DES, Dawson County Sherriff's Office, Dawson County /Glendive Dispatch Center, Dawson County EMS, Glendive PD, Glendive Fire, Glendive Public Works, Ranger Review, West Glendive Fire, Dawson County Medical Center, and all of our volunteers for their part in this exercise.

We have a great community and great emergency personnel! Thank you!
