REQUESTS FOR PUBLIC RECORDS

Glendive Public Schools follows procedures contained in the Montana Codes Annotated regarding the efficient and effective management of public records and public information:

PUBLIC INFORMATION DEFINITION:
"Public information" means information prepared, owned, used, or retained by any public agency relating to the transaction of official business, regardless of form, except for confidential information that must be protected against public disclosure under applicable law.
HOW TO SUBMIT A REQUEST FOR PUBLIC RECORDS:

Requests must include:
Full Name
Address
Phone Number
Email Address
Specific description of the records requested
Processing & Cost Estimate:
The District will review the request and determine if any costs apply.
If costs are involved, an invoice will be sent to the requester for approval before the request is finalized.
Approval & Payment:
Once the requester approves the cost estimate and payment is received, the District will proceed with fulfilling the request.
Receiving the Records:
Once the request is complete, the information will be sent to the requester.
The requester should watch for emails from Flow Forms regarding updates on their request.
OTHER INFORMATION:
The District will respond in a timely manner by:
Providing access to records for inspection and copying, or
Sending an estimate of the time and cost to fulfill the request.
If clarification is needed, the District may request a phone call or meeting.
Fees may apply for records processing and must be paid before the request is completed.
The District is not required to customize records to meet specific formatting requests, but if customization is possible, additional fees may apply.
