Important information about 10/13/21: https://www.glendiveschools.com/article/559998

GPS will be canceling school for the remainder of the day. Please come and get your student from the schools or make arrangements for them to be picked up. Please be safe on the roads. We want to make sure that everyone is safe during this crazy time.
Status of the buildings right now: We do not have water at JES and we still have power down at all of the buildings. The High School does have a backup generator that they are currently on. We do not feel the power will be back on before lunch time to feed our students. Our communication systems are not working well right now either.

We wanted to get this message out to you as soon as possible. At this point, we are still having school, but as of now, we have all 4 buildings without power because of downed power lines. The situation is being worked on and we should have more information soon. Please make sure you are checking your messages as we will be sending updates out soon. If we can’t get some things situated, we might have to cancel school for the remainder of the day. This decision will be made in the next 45 to 90 mins.

4-H Community Carnival
Sunday, September 26th from 4pm - 7pm

GPS is committed to increasing our STEM opportunities for all students.
STEM is a common abbreviation for four closely connected areas of study: science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The fields are often associated due to the similarities that they share both in theory and practice.
There's been a significant push in recent years to fill STEM jobs in the United States. Despite a focus on filling STEM-related jobs, American businesses can't fill their STEM jobs at an appropriate pace.
-STEM [science, technology, engineering, mathematics] jobs are projected to grow 8.8%.
-Specifically, software development employment is projected to grow 22%.

It can be difficult to tell the difference between an overnight illness and the onset of the cold or flu. Because our top priority at GPS is keeping our students, student families and staff safe and healthy, we have created protocols and a series of screening questions to help families decide whether their child’s symptoms warrant a sick day from school.
Before school each day, students should be screened by parents for fever or other signs of illness. If the student shows such symptoms, they should be kept home. When students report to school, teachers will continue to monitor students for visible or reported signs of illness, and they may take the student’s temperature or send them to the school nurse for a further health screening as needed.
